For the past twenty years, Gwenaël Salaün has recorded the story of our urban culture mixing iconic images, symbols and clips in an unexpected manner.
Gwenaël Salaün started his career as a DJ in Northern France and in Belgium. His love of music is apparent in his artwork which is supremely rhythmic. White planes are interrupted by colors like scratches break silences. Images of hooded men are overlaid on skeletons, rappers, ghost-like figures, stray dogs and alluring women.
His world is dreamlike and in constant motion. His memories are emotionally charged. His paintings are powerful symbols with multi-layered readings.

Gwenaël Salaün (b. 1960) lives and works in Morlaix in Brittany. His art has been exhibited in numerous galleries in France, in Belgium and Dubaï over the last 20 years.
