[the art of confinement]
I hope you are all well and keep as safe as possible in your home, hopefully caring of and being cared by your loved ones.
I am afraid we won’t have the opportunity to meet much during the coming weeks, all events the gallery was planning to be taken part in being postponed until further notice.
Waiting for this happy time we are all ‘released’, I will do my best to update the website with any new artworks you might like to discover.
Also, I will take the opportunity of this lockdown situation to bring direct to your home some insights of our artists' fascinating art environment . Each week I will feature the portrait of an artist represented by the gallery in order to discover the person hidden behind the work you have seen and surely liked during the art events the gallery has been organising for more than a decade.
So here we are!!! And to beautifully start with this new series, I am delighted to present the portrait of Manolo Chrétien.
>focus #1 - manolo chrétien
What a wonderful journey we have shared with Manolo Chrétien since 2009 when we got to meet with him! Shall we call it ‘love at first sight’ when we entered his studio to discover his so called ‘Aluminations’?
Inspired by movements, reflections, fluid dynamics, colours…Manolo has adopted aluminium as his predominant media in order to beautifully reflect their magic. Many years have passed on, and still fascinated by his photographs printed on aluminium and the power they carry, we would like to share with you more about his work, his inspiration and anything else Manolo is ready to let us know about…
